Country music fans have been kind to Dolly Parton over the years; she’s come a long way from birthplace Sevier Country, TN. Now, residents of this Appalachian community will feel the love from Dolly.
Firefighters and volunteers continue to battle raging fires blazing in and around the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, affecting in particular Sevier County, the birthplace of Dolly Parton. Sadly, the death toll has risen to seven, with millions of dollars in damage to neighborhood homes.
In an effort to help those residents suffering from the fires of the Great Smokey Mountains, Dolly and her Dollywood Company/Foundation have created a fund to assist those in need. Called ‘My People Fund,’ Dolly and her combined foundation will provide $1,000 each month to Sevier County families who lost their homes.
