It’s the Monday after Thanksgiving, which signals the sounds of Christmas music for the next 20+ days and the holiday shopping rush. Let’s kick off your Monday with a few music news headlines…
Jer Bulsara, Freddie Mercury’s mother, died last week at the age of 94. Jer is preceded in death by Freddie, passing away in 1991.
Vince Neil will not perform at the Trump Presidential Inauguration, although he had agreed to do so over the summer. It seems the President-Elect’s team has ‘uninvited’ him from the ceremony. Vince is still scheduled to appear as a contestant on the Trump show ‘Celebrity Apprentice,’ with Arnold Schwarzenegger taking over the hosting duties.
Elton John will not play at the Presidential inauguration, in spite of what you many have heard. It seems that President Elect Donald J. Trump thought it would be a great idea, but should have checked with Elton, who denounced his appearance upon hearing he would entertain. Whoops!
Birthdays this week include Tom Waits, Gregg Allman, Sinead O’Connor, Joan Amatrading, David Gates, Jermaine Jackson and Nikki Sixx.
