Carly Rae Jepsen turns a year older this week (November 21), so it’s about time we celebrate what she’s done in the past. She may not have the biggest of musical careers, but she does have one of the biggest songs of the past 10 years or so. That song of course is the 2012 release, “Call Me Maybe.”
This hit was heard everything from baseball parks to bars to the car stereo and everywhere you heard it, the song was loved. When it was all said and done, the song would reach number one in 18 different countries! With all of that success all over the globe you would think it would take home some major hardware. Unfortunately for Carly, she did not win either of the two Grammy nominations she had (Song of the Year/Best Pop Solo Performance).
When it comes to sales, “Call Me Maybe” has done major damage over the years. There are reports out saying that it is in the 18-20 million units sold range and has become the fourth highest selling digital single ever.
Carly Rae Jepsen turns 31 this week. Happy birthday!
