Alabama Alone at the Top

For weeks and weeks everyone has agreed that Alabama was the number one football team in the country. With the results of this past weekend in though, there’s no question they are the team to beat and everyone else is just trying to imitate them. Alabama cruised to a big win over Mississippi State while others struggled…

Number two Clemson lost a late lead against Pitt to lose 43-42. It was a wild game that consisted of 70 passing attempts from Deshaun Watson and a game winning field goal with almost no time remaining from a kicker whose name is Blewitt. Congrats to Blewitt and the Pitt Panthers.

Number three Michigan seemed asleep most of this game and could not get anything going on offense all night long. They were up by two with about two minutes remaining, but could not get the first down needed to seal the game. Iowa drove down the field and kicked a short field goal with no time remaining to win.

Number four Washington was new to the playoff this week, but as soon as they come in they’re leaving. They lost to a ranked USC team in what many were calling a real shot at an upset before the game. What will the top four look like next week? We’ll have to wait to find out!
