Here are your Monday morning music headlines…
Deep Purple has just finished their new album, due out in the spring of 2017. Alice Cooper is planning on releasing a 7-inch single “Live From The Astroturf” within the next few weeks.
Metallica announced they will play their first-ever show in Hong Kong, ringing in 2017 there. The band is currently out on tour supporting their latest effort “Hardwired…To Self-Destruct.”
There has yet to be an autobiography or ‘tell all’ Foreigner book – until now. Mick Jones has written a band biography, due out in early 2017. The book will deal more with Mick than tarnish the bands image. For example, did you know that Mick actually did some early touring with the Beatles?
Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry met with President Obama last week, to the displeasure of Joey Kramer. It seems Joey may or may not be a fan of the Pres, but felt that the ‘photo opp’ allowed fans to draw assumptive conclusions about all the band members political views.
Birthdays this week include Grace Slick, the Eagles Timothy B. Schmit, Lyle Lovett, the Red Hot Chili Peppers Anthony Kiedis, Art Garfunkel, and Herman Hermits Peter Noone. Sadly, Glenn Frey would have been 67 this weekend.
