With the news of the 2017 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominations, it got us thinking. Who are some of the best rockers that people might not appreciate as much as we do. Well, we have compiled a list of three that we think you’ll agree with. What do you think?
Earth Wind and Fire was a mid-60s soul/fun/rock group from Chicago that fought the odds and trends of the day to sell millions of records. Without the genius of Earth Wind and Fire, we would not have most of the pop and soul groups in the 80s and 90s.
The Cars were an interesting group of boys from Boston. The band was a response to the eclectic British wave invading the music charts in the early 80s. The Cars brought new and exciting studio techniques to the forefront. Remember, MTV needed songs/videos to play, and the heavy synthesizer sound the Cars generated took new wave to commercial success.
Steely Dan is the most under rated band of all time in our opinion. Walter Becker and Donald Fagen met in the early 70s at college, and began to turn the music world on its ears with the most original mixture of jazz/pop/rock around, pumping lyrics that still stand the test of time.
