Meat Loaf Back on the Charts

Grammy Award-winning musician, part time actor, and all around nice guy Meat Loaf is back on the charts with his latest LP “Braver Than We Are,” which debuted at number 11 on the Billboard Top 200 current albums chart. The LP is also sitting atop many of rock charts as well.

As you might suspect, longtime producer and friend Jim Steinman, the collaborator and producer that spun the albums “Bat Out of Hell” and “Bat Out of Hell II: Back Into Hell” to gold, was heavily involved in this latest effort. Here are few things you might have known about this performer…

Meat Loaf was born Marvin Lee Away, and in the early 60s, and worked hard to avoid the draft in the Vietnam era by adding nearly 70 lbs. to his weight, failing the entrance exam.

Meat Loaf has some pretty weighty acting accomplishments to his acting credits, including starring in ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show,’ ‘Wayne’s World,’ ‘Fight Club’ and the less than successful ‘Spiceworld: The Movie.’

The LP “Bat Out of Hell” sold over 40 million copies in it’s debut, continuing to sell over 200,000 units every year since it’s release.
