In the early 70s 10cc was began their musical journey as an alternative rock band, not taken in by commercial debauchery or selling out. Sure it’s cool to speak truth to power, but mamas gotta eat!
Stewart, Kevin Godley, Graham Gouldman and Lol Crème realized they had better start writing it single, or they would be back to the factories in short order. After a decade Godley and Crème left the band, with a brief reunion in the late 80s. Believe it or not, all the original members of the band are still alive.
“The Things We Do For Love,” “I’m Not In Love” were the biggest songs from 10cc, making them financially viable along the way.
The biggest falsehood surrounding 10cc is its name. No, it’s not that (we can’t say it, so please Google for more info) rather the name comes from a dream held by Jonathan King as he hovered like an angle over Webley Stadium. It’s a dream Jonathan say he had three times.
