The 2017 Grammys are fast approaching, but something right in front of us is the deadline for this amazing award show. If you didn’t know, the Grammys have a set of requirements for being eligible to win an award at the show. One of the first ones is that a song or album must be released between October 1 and September 30 of the next year. So, for the 2017 Grammys, only songs and albums released between October 1, 2015 and September 30, 2016 are eligible.
One of the big songs of the past year is eligible for this upcoming year’s Grammys and you may not realize it. We’re talking about “Hello” from Adele. Because it was released on October 22, 2015, it was eligible for the 2017 Grammys and not the 2016 award show. So, if you’re watching the award show in a few months and asking yourself why is this old song a part of the award show, now you know why!
