Jethro Tull began in mid-1967, born a popular bar band from Luton England. This rock and roll band was very unusual, in that it featured a non-typical instrument – the flute!
Vocalist/flautist/guitarist Ian Anderson, guitarist Martin Barre, bassists Glenn Cornick and Jeffrey Hammond, and Dave Pegg, keyboardist John Evan, drummers Clive Bunker, Doane Perry, and Barriemore Barlow were original members. The album “Stand Up” was released in 1969 and hit number one on the UK charts, number two in the US, and launched the band into fame and fortune.
Here’s great news Tullers! Stand Up: The Elevated Edition by Jethro Tull will be released this November 18. The box set will include previously unreleased tracks, rare band footage, interviews, and a follow along book.
