The 80s was an interesting decade, perhaps one of the greatest set of years since the 60s, in that it was the very birth of the internet, tech companies, the top 1%, and ultimately Reganomics, the ‘Trickle Down Economics’ that greatly impacted our country. Here are the 80s albums that remain part of our music fabric…
‘Synchronicity’ by the Police was the breakout album of 1983, containing the hit singles “Every Breath You Take,” “King of Pain,” and “Wrapped Around Your Finger. At the 1984 Grammys the album received five nominations and won three. This album was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2009.
In 1982, Michael Jackson released the album “Thriller,” containing the hit single of the same name, along with the classic songs “Billy Jean,” “Beat It” and “Human Nature.” The album won a record breaking eight Grammys in 1984. Without this album, there might not have been an MTV.
