Original Lead Guitarist for 3 Doors Down Passes Away

When 3 Doors Down was formed back in 1996, Matt Roberts was a big member of the band. For quite some time he was the lead guitarist for the band whose most famous song has to be “Kryptonite.” That song was co-written by Roberts by the way.

The rock world lost Matt Roberts this past Saturday, as he was found dead in Milwaukee in a hotel. TMZ is reporting that the death was due to a drug overdose. Considering Robert’s age, 38, this wouldn’t be all that surprising. He seemed to be, for the most part, a healthy man.

The autopsy has yet to be done, but at this point the details don’t matter as much as the fact that 3 Doors Down fans and rock fans everywhere have lost a great rocker.
