The Beatles appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show in February of 1964, and the world was never the same. It’s hard to calculate the significant contributions, inspiration, and or influence the ‘Fab Four’ has had on our culture. Here are three tings you may not have known about the Beatles up until now…

No one ever heard the songs played at their US tour. The screaming girls at their concerts over rode the stage amps. It’s rumored that the boys were aware of this and often purposely sang different lyrics to make fun of the situation, and then laugh about it after the gig.

In 1967, the Beatles had so much money, influence and implied power, they considered staring a new civilization on one of the Greek Islands.

15-year-old Maryland resident Marsha Albert saw a news segment about the Beatles in 1957, and was so moved by this news story, she called her Congressman in nearby D.C. That official called a local DJ, who then tracked down the news story, finding the single “I Want to Hold Your Hand.”
