The MLB season is almost at its end, but there is still plenty of time to figure things out for those teams currently on the outside looking in at the playoffs. We took a look at the standings as of Thursday morning and here is how the playoffs would shake out if the season ended as of then.
In the American League, you would see the Blue Jays, Indians, Rangers, Red Sox and Orioles all make the playoffs with the two AL East foes facing each other in the wild card matchup.
In the National League, the current playoff landscape looks like that Nationals, Cubs, Dodgers, Giants and Cardinals with the final two teams being the wild card matchup.
A few teams to look at as contenders to jump into the playoffs include the Marlins (62-58), Pirates (62-56), Tigers (63-57) and the Mariners (64-55).
