Earlier this week, we discussed The Weeknd’s donation to a university in his home country and now he has done more for his community. This time, he has donated a quarter of a million dollars to the Black Lives Matter movement. This movement started back in 2013 by Opal Tometi, Alicia Garza and Patrisse Cullors. Together, they advocate for African American rights.
The man made famous by an unbelievable amount of hits over the past year is using his money and fame to try to make an impact on the world around him. We certainly applaud him for not keeping quiet about issues that mean the most to him.
