Bruce Springsteen gave us the iconic album “Born to Run” in the mid-70s; the album is still considered one of the finest pieces of music ever recorded. Bruce’s most inner thoughts as he’s nearly finished with his autobiography “Born to Run,” due out in the Fall.
“Blinded By the Light” from his Greetings from Asbury Park is a classic that Manfred Mann covered years later. The song is very autobiographical. Go back and listen to the song and you’ll hear Bruce’s recollection of his early struggles in New Jersey.
Sure “Born to Run” is the pick of the litter from the self-entitled album, but “Thunder Road” is the critics’ choice as their favorite from the album. The song features the brilliance of the Big Man and Danny, both sure missed by fans the band.
“Brilliant Disguise” from the 1987 Tunnel of Love album is a wonderful song that refers to his brief marriage to actress Julianne Phillips.
