David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac and Others in Your Monday Music Headlines

Here are your Monday morning music news headlines…

Lindsey Buckingham, the heart and soul of Fleetwood Mac, has been busy. Earlier in the year Lindsey completed about a dozen solo concert dates. Lindsey has also recently been in the studio working on an upcoming solo album. Now we hear that critics loved his guest appearance in early July on the Showtime series ‘Roadies,’ so much, there is word that there may be more TV work or reality based projects in the offing.

The always unpredictable Steven Tyler made a guest appearance on the ‘Tonight Show’ and stole the show.
The late David Bowie has been placed as a nominee for the 2016 Mercury Awards, given away this upcoming September. Recently we learned that David’s son Duncan, a new father, blessed his father’s memory by adding David’s name to the child’s full name.

Slash and guitarist Derek Trucks (Allman Brothers original member) will be included to perform at a special tribute concert celebrating the life of the late B.B. King; the festivities will take place September 1 in Beverly Hills.

Birthdays this week include John David from Dr. Hook, Ali Score of the band Flock of Seagulls, Third Eye Blinds Arion Salazar, Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull), Ronnie Spector, Slim Dunlap of the Replacements, Dire Straits founder Mark Knopfler, David Crosby and Dash Crofts (Seals and Crofts).
