Buyers and Sellers at the MLB Deadline

The first big trade of the season came when the Cubs traded for Aroldis Chapman and there should be plenty of action as the trade deadline approaches. Let’s take a look at a few teams who could be buyers or sellers…

The Detroit Tigers could be either option, but we’re thinking they sell if anything. They’re pretty far back of the Indians in the Central division and the wild card seems to get further away as the days pass. The Tigers have a few great players they could trade like Justin Wilson, Francisco Rodriguez and JD Martinez to name a few.

The Texas Rangers will be buyers this week and we think they’ll be aiming for pitching. They’ve had plenty of pitchers get hurt and/or pitch awful, so that is their main target as the deadline approaches.

The St. Louis Cardinals could be in the market to buy as well. They in the seven to eight games back range of the Cubs and need to keep up either in the division or the wild card race if they want to make the playoffs again this season.
