The Eagles and all music fans suffered a great loss with the death of Glenn Frey in early 2016, but the music lives on. Here are a few thoughts on the best Eagles albums of all time…
The Eagles first album, the self-entitled ‘Eagles’ from (1972) contained the classic singles “Take it Easy,” “Witchy Woman,” “Peaceful Easy Feeling” and more. Without this album the band would still be playing in a Holiday Inn at in Riverside, California. The effort was quickly certified gold selling millions of copies and vaulting the band into cult status.
‘On the Border’ from 1974 was an interesting effort for a few reasons. The band began to shift to a harder rock sound, offering the singles “James Dean,” “Already Gone,” as examples, while still releasing ‘Best of My Love” for the ladies. The track “On the Border” was inspired by Watergate, while there is a tribute to the late Gram Parsons, a friend of the band that died of a drug overdose earlier in the year.
