The Eagles were one of the biggest bands in the 70s because they captured the Folk Rock sound so well, crossing over from pop to rock so easily. How did it all begin for the Eagles?
Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Bernie Leadon, and Randy Meisner primarily knew each other as the backup and road band for Linda Ronstadt in the early 70s, but broke away to start a new band called the Eagles. Do you remember their signature 70s album?
‘Desperado,’ the album, was recorded in London as their second studio album, containing the single “Desperado” which grew the band fan base to women and admirers of the west. In what can be described as politically incorrect today, the bodies lying in front of the band on the back of the album contained J.D. Souther, Jackson Browne, the band’s manager and the artist responsible for the album cover.
The band (which included Joe Walsh who joined the band a few albums in) eventually making it to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998, sold upwards of 140 million records, and released many popular albums.
