P!nk’s Beginnings and a Few Fun Facts!

Alecia Beth More, also known as P!nk, was born on September 8th 1979, growing up in a little old Doyleston, PA. Her mother was a nurse and her father a car salesman. Her father is Catholic while her mother Jewish and unfortunately, the family suffered a contentious divorce when Alecia was nine. Her early writing reflects the pain of a broken home. P!nk as we know her now, began to perform at clubs in Philly at the age of 14, jumping from band to band along the way in her formative years.

Her stage name, P!nk, came from the classic Quintin Tarantino movie ‘Reservoir Dogs’ (Mr. Pink).

P!nk’s first national award came at the 2000 Billboard Music Awards, winning the ‘Best New Female Artist’ award. “Let’s Get This Party Started” was her first mega hit, receiving lots of airplay in Australia and Europe before hitting the charts here in the good old USA.

P!nk met motorcross star Casey Hart at the X Games in 2001, and after an on air off again relationship, proposed to Casey in 2005. The marriage ended in 2008.
