Although Adele could not be in attendance, she was one of the biggest winners of the event. The night was filled with terrific performances and even a masterful tribute by Madonna, so it’ll definitely be one we remember for quite some time. This holds true for Adele even though she couldn’t make it. Let us tell you why…
Adele won the award for Top Artist! She beat out the biggest names in the business, as Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Drake, and The Weeknd were all nominated for the award. Not surprisingly, she was the recipient of the Top Female Artist award. She beat out Taylor Swift (again), Selena Gomez, Rihanna, and Ariana Grande.
She also won the Top Billboard 200 Album for her work on “25.” The album was released last fall and took the world by storm. Adele would also go on to win the Top Billboard 200 Artist and Top Selling Song awards.
