UB40 Still Touring Today

Did you know that UB40 has sold over 40 million records and is still touring today? That’s quite an accomplishment considering they began in 1978 and have had their fair share of rock and roll tragedies. Here are a few fun facts about this wonderfully Reggae band we call UB 40.

UB40 is taken from the term “Unemployment Benefit” (UB) forms 40 that was used in the UK during the 70s.
Thanks Neil, as “Red Red Wine” the Neil Diamond song enabled them to break the music charts here in the USA, and “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” the Elvis song, solidified their success. Their biggest hit “Here I Am” was all covers of songs that hit number one in the UK and America.

UB40 is considered the most successful Reggae band of all time, with the possible exception of the late Bob Marley, and is on tour through most of the early summer, but here are a few dates upon their return to the US…

July 21 – Seattle, WA
July 22 – Portland, OR
July 26 – Saratoga, CA
