‘This is Spinal Tap’ is the greatest rock and roll movie ever made. Let us tell you why and you’ll be backing us up on this for sure.
The movie contains a pivotal scene in Cleveland, showing the rich knowledge of rock and roll for Alan Freed and honoring the city’s historic contribution to rock and roll, including the current Hall of Fame location.
Spinal Tap is a British group and because of that there were some pre-script finale discussions about the origin of the band. It was decided that the band being British would allow them to be made fun of more easily.
Rob Reiner is the director of the movie. He’s the best director ever and is well versed to direct a ‘Mock U Mentary’ by the horns.
‘This is Spinal Tap’ weaves in typical rock issues such as the tension over the album cover art, the intrusion of St. Hubbins girlfriend into the band, attending meetings and making her opinion known about significant business decisions. Yoko anyone?
The band Nirvana was actually offered a walk on role in the movie, but declined to film.
Howard Hessemen of “WKRP Cincinnati” was featured in the movie, as was real rockers Paul Shaffer, Danny Kortchmar, Russ Kunkel, and Paul Shortino.
