It was 16 years ago Sunday that we were all blessed with Britney Spears’ single, “Oops I Did It Again.” On March 27, 2000, this was the lead single off her second album, which owned the same name. The music video will forever be remembered because who can’t forget a stunning Britney on Mars in a red spandex outfit?
While the song peaked at only nine on the US Billboard Hot 100, it reached number one on the US Pop Songs chart. It would also go on to hit number one on 15 other charts across the globe.
Britney was nominated for a Grammy and four MTV Video Music Awards, but was not able to bring any hardware home at either of those award shows.
