Bob Dylan the Collector

Did you know that legendary singer and 60s activist Bob Dylan was a collector? Over the years, Bob collected song sheets, records and tour memorabilia. They all sold recently to the George Kaiser Family Foundation and the University of Tulsa for an estimated $15 to $20 million. The collection is estimated to be worth at least $60 million dollars.

The collection includes a manuscript of his 1971 book Tarantula, hundreds of tape reels and a 1978 postcard from Barbra Streisand among a few other miscellaneous items.

In related collector news, John Lennon’s childhood stamp collection will be on display at the World Stamp Show in New York City, May 28th through June 4th. Admission is free and doors open May 28th .
