Arian Foster Released by Texans

Tis the season for major off-season moves and the Texans made a big one on Thursday. They released their franchise-leading rusher in Arian Foster. The move will save them $6.625 million, but their owner just recently said they wouldn’t be releasing him because of money. We’ll have to see what exactly he meant by this as the days pass.

Foster was an undrafted free agent pickup for the Texans back in 2009. He only carried the ball 54 times in his rookie season, but in his sophomore season he would blow up. He carried the ball 327 times for 1,616 yards, and 16 touchdowns. Foster would end up rushing for 6,472 yards for the Texans from 2009 to 2015.

He wasn’t just a great ball carrier though. He caught 249 passes in his career with a career high 66 in that second season.

Headed deeper into the off-season, we are sure to see many more big moves, possibly one with Foster heading to another team.
