Monday Music Headlines

The 58th Annual Grammy Awards, hosted by LL Cool J, occurs tonight, so be sure to come back tomorrow for a list of winners and that it all means. Let’s get to some other headlines until then…

The Rolling Stones have been on the music scene for 50 years and have probably seen it all. Now they can add ‘kidnap targets’ as part of the memoirs. After the shooting of one of the roadies on their current Argentinian tour, fearing kidnapping and murder, the Stones are now under 24-hour armed guard security watch.

Barry Manilow was rushed off the stage this past weekend in Memphis to undergo emergency oral surgery in Los Angeles – Barry is now resting comfortably.

Yes, the Stones, Adele and other stars have publicly stated that a certain politician does not have permission to use a song politically, but we’ve checked the law. If the political campaign pays a general ASCAP and BMI fee, they can continue to use the song in specifically detailed ways.

Peter Cetera, the original Chicago bassist and successful solo artist, can’t seem to make up his mind about whether he will be joining the rest of the original members on stage for the upcoming Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. First no; then yes, now no again.

David Bowies’ only child, son Duncan, has announced that he’s going to be a father. We think David would have loved being a grandfather, and you will see many artists tonight at the Grammys pay tribute to not only David, but recently lost Glenn Frey as well.
