Monday Rock Headlines

Well here’s another Monday staring all of us in the face, and although we have the NFL’s championship game at the end of the week, we have to get through the longest day of the week. Here are a few music news headlines.

2016 has not been kind to our hero’s, as Jefferson Airplane’s Paul Kantner at the age of 74, Glenn Frey age 67; David Bowie 69, and Motorhead’s Lemmy Kilmister, age 70 have all passed way. In addition, lesser known Gary Loizzo, the lead singer who can be heard on the 60s American Breed’s “Bend Me, Shape Me” has died. Gary went on to engineer many of the Styx albums, proving that he was more than a singer. Loizzo was 70.

Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath are on the road in 2016 with what can only be described as their final tour. Bruce Springsteen, The Doobie Brothers with Dave Mason, and ZZ Top are also filling concert venues with live dates this year.

Van Halen’s former bassist, Michael Anthony, recently disputed the rumor that he, and or Sammy Hagar, is getting back together with the group. It’s simply a juicy rumor.

Iron Maiden has announced they have a new mobile APP that can be downloaded. ‘Legacy of the Beast’ is its name, and is an interactive APP that fans can enjoy that has exclusive Maiden content.
