Only Murders in the Building Heads to London for a Star-Studded Season 6

Charles, Oliver and Mabel are trading the Arconia for London as Only Murders in the Building prepares to take its amateur detectives across the Atlantic for Season 6.

The Emmy-winning mystery comedy returns December 8, 2026, with Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez once again leading the investigation. This time, however, the familiar streets of New York are giving way to a distinctly British backdrop.

The change is big enough to warrant a seasonal makeover for the show’s name, with the new installment being presented as Only Murders in London.

At the center of the mystery is Cinda Canning, the true-crime podcaster played by Tina Fey. Her latest appearance puts Charles, Oliver and Mabel on the trail of another killer, with the investigation drawing the trio to London for what promises to be one of their most ambitious cases.

Moving the action overseas gives the series plenty of new territory to explore. After five seasons built around the residents, secrets and suspiciously high body count surrounding the Arconia, London offers a fresh collection of locations and potential suspects.

It also places the show’s podcast-loving investigators in the spiritual home of the classic British murder mystery, an opportunity that appears tailor-made for Only Murders’ mixture of eccentric comedy and elaborate whodunits.

The trio won’t be making the trip without some serious star power surrounding them.

Season 6 features a formidable collection of guest stars, including Olivia Colman, David Tennant, Nicola Coughlan and Martin Freeman. Tina Fey returns as Cinda, while Meryl Streep is also among the familiar faces appearing in the new season.

First-look images offer an early glimpse of Martin, Short and Gomez on the streets of London, suggesting that even thousands of miles from the Arconia, Charles, Oliver and Mabel haven’t lost their talent for finding trouble.

For five seasons, Only Murders in the Building has managed to keep reinventing the mystery without breaking up the chemistry of its central trio. Season 6 is about to test that formula on an entirely new stage.

New city. New suspects. Same three podcasters who simply cannot stay away from a murder.
