Doja Cat Declares “L’album est complet” as New Era ‘Vie’ Nears Release

Doja Cat has officially wrapped her next album, Vie, and she let fans know with a chic twist—by announcing it entirely in French. On July 21, the genre-bending star took to X (formerly Twitter) to post simply: “L’album est complet,” paired with a croissant emoji. Translation? “The album is complete.”

The cryptic-yet-stylish update confirmed what fans have eagerly awaited for months. Vie, set to arrive this fall, marks Doja’s fifth studio album and her first since 2023’s Scarlet, which delivered chart-toppers like “Paint the Town Red” and landed in the top 5 on the Billboard 200.

This time, Doja leans unapologetically into pop. “This is a pop-driven project,” she said in a recent V magazine feature. “Pop is just music that people like. It shouldn’t be dismissed as unserious.” She also spoke on the genre’s perception, calling out how pop is often unfairly viewed as less credible.

While no singles have dropped just yet, snippets of unreleased tracks previously teased on social media have only heightened anticipation. Doja’s recent collaborations with RAYE, LISA, Jack Harlow, and Don Toliver show her ever-expanding soundscape—and Vie promises to be her boldest statement yet.
