Jack White Sues Trump for Unauthorized Use of “Seven Nation Army”

Jack White and Meg White of The White Stripes are taking legal action against former President Donald Trump and his campaign for using their iconic song “Seven Nation Army” without permission. The duo filed a lawsuit in federal court, targeting Trump, his campaign, and key officials after the song was featured in a campaign video posted on X and other social media platforms.

In a pointed Instagram post, Jack White shared a screenshot of the lawsuit with the caption, “This machine sues fascists,” referencing Woody Guthrie’s famous anti-fascist message. The lawsuit claims that Trump’s team used the song in videos promoting rallies in Michigan and Wisconsin, key battleground states.

This isn’t the first time artists have taken legal action against Trump for unauthorized use of their music. The White Stripes join other musicians, including Eddy Grant and the estate of Isaac Hayes, who have filed similar lawsuits against Trump’s campaign.

The lawsuit seeks damages and asks the court to investigate whether the videos led to campaign donations. “Seven Nation Army” remains one of The White Stripes’ most iconic tracks, and the duo previously objected to its use by Trump during his 2016 campaign.
