“Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen’s Epic Tour Chronicles Life, Loss, and Rock ‘n’ Roll”

Director Thom Zimny’s latest documentary, Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, is a grand, expansive look at Springsteen’s 2023-2024 world tour. More than just a concert film, it serves as a retrospective of the legendary musician’s career, blending music with themes of life, loss, and reflection. The film captures Springsteen’s first tour in six years, using the live performances as a lens to explore his 74-year journey.

While previous documentaries like The Promise (2010) and Western Stars (2019) had narrower focuses, Road Diary covers a broader spectrum, intertwining joy and sorrow, seriousness and playfulness. It also gives significant screen time to Springsteen’s dedicated fans, showcasing their passion alongside backstage footage and performances from shows across the U.S. and Europe.

The film features more than a dozen songs, including highlights from the Letter to You album and iconic tracks like “No Surrender” and “Backstreets.” With music, interviews, and historical context, Road Diary examines Springsteen’s lasting influence on rock and his deep connection with his audience.

Premiering at Toronto International Film Festival to thunderous applause, Road Diary hits Disney+ in October, giving fans a profound glimpse into Springsteen’s world.
