Lainey Wilson is candid about the pressures that come with her rising stardom and the responsibility of being a role model for her young fans. In a recent interview discussing her collaboration with Yellow Rose by Kendra Scott, the 32-year-old country star acknowledged the weight of her influence but sees it as a way to keep herself grounded.
“There’s definitely pressure, but it’s a pressure that holds me accountable,” Wilson shared. “I still answer to mama, daddy, and the Lord, and I strive not to let them down. But I’m human, and I know I’ll make mistakes.”
Aware of the many eyes on her, especially from younger fans, Wilson emphasizes the importance of setting a good example. “It’s crucial for me to go to bed each night knowing I’ve done or said things I can be proud of,” she added.
Wilson also expressed her excitement for her fifth studio album, Whirlwind, which dropped on Aug. 23. She describes the album as a “badass record” that reveals a new side of her artistry. “This is a project I’ll be talking about 50 years from now,” she said.
In addition to the album, Wilson is celebrating her new “Whirlwind” jewelry collection with Kendra Scott. The collection, featuring rings, necklaces, and earrings, embodies both Wilson and Scott’s personalities. “We’re kindred spirits,” Wilson noted, adding that working together was a creative and fun experience.
With her new music and jewelry line, Wilson continues to make her mark, balancing the pressures of fame with authenticity and a strong sense of self.
