Bebe Rexha Claims Discrimination After Speaking Albanian at German Airport

Singer Bebe Rexha has alleged that she was banned from her flight and threatened after speaking Albanian to a security agent at Munich International Airport, Germany. The 34-year-old artist, who was traveling to the U.S., shared her emotional account on Instagram, accusing the airline and its staff of discriminatory behavior.

Rexha, whose family hails from North Macedonia and Albania, claimed she was stopped from boarding her Lufthansa flight after she spoke in Albanian to a security agent, believing he was of Albanian descent. In a tearful video, she recounted the experience, stating, “The supervisor for this flight on Lufthansa is threatening me,” and labeled the incident a hate crime, suspecting she was targeted because of her ethnicity.

The “I’m Good (Blue)” singer further accused the man of abusing his power and refusing to provide his name, while also expressing disappointment that no female Lufthansa employees intervened. Rexha later discovered that the individual in question allegedly worked for ATSG, a service company hired by Lufthansa.

In response, Rexha’s mother, Bukurije Rexha, also spoke out on social media, threatening legal action for the discriminatory and degrading treatment her daughter faced. She urged both Lufthansa and Munich Airport to investigate the incident and hold the responsible parties accountable.

Rexha concluded by saying she felt emotionally drained from the ordeal and called on Lufthansa to conduct a full investigation, asserting that a simple apology would not suffice.
