Tim McGraw recently opened up about a heartwarming and funny “girl dad” moment that he shared with fellow country star Kenny Chesney, thanks to his daughter Gracie. McGraw was inspired to share the story after watching a video of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson having a tea party and playing dress-up with his daughters, showcasing the playful side of fatherhood.
McGraw recalled a day spent by the pool with Chesney, who was his neighbor at the time. Gracie, McGraw’s daughter, decided it was the perfect opportunity to paint both of their toenails pink. The two country stars went along with it, relaxing by the pool with freshly painted nails.
The following week, they attended the Academy of Country Music Awards in Los Angeles. McGraw wisely removed the nail polish before the event, but Chesney wasn’t as fortunate. “Kenny forgot to take off the pink polish,” McGraw laughed, recalling how Chesney spent the entire awards show with bright pink toenails.
This humorous memory is one that McGraw and Chesney still laugh about today. McGraw, who shares three daughters with his wife Faith Hill, often reflects on the joy and inspiration his daughters bring him. He even hopes to collaborate with them musically one day, though his daughters aren’t quite on board yet. “They’re like, ‘I ain’t singing with you, dad,'” McGraw shared with a smile.
