David Crosby, the legendary singer-songwriter, was honored at a benefit concert on April 23rd, 2023, held at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles, California. The event featured performances from some of the biggest names in rock and folk music, including Neil Young and Stephen Stills.
The benefit concert was held to raise money for the Midnight Mission, a non-profit organization that provides support and resources to the homeless population in the Los Angeles area. The event was organized by musician and activist Bonnie Raitt, who is a longtime supporter of the Midnight Mission.
During the concert, Young and Stills performed several songs that Crosby had written or co-written, including “Guinnevere” and “Wooden Ships,” as well as their own hits. The two musicians, who were both members of the iconic group Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, also shared stories about their longtime friend and collaborator.
Crosby, who was unable to attend the benefit concert due to health reasons, expressed his gratitude to Young and Stills in a statement. “I’m deeply touched by the love and support of my friends and fellow musicians,” he said. “I wish I could have been there to hear them play, but their tribute means the world to me.”
The benefit concert was a touching tribute to one of the most influential figures in rock music, and a reminder of the power of music to bring people together for a good cause.
