Metallica releases American Sign Language Videos with 17 Seasons

Metallica is partnering with the media company 72 Seasons to release a series of American Sign Language (ASL) videos. The videos will feature Metallica’s lyrics interpreted in ASL, providing an inclusive experience for deaf and hard-of-hearing fans. The first video, for the song “Nothing Else Matters,” was released on April 15, 2023, and features ASL interpreter Jessica Flores.

Metallica’s drummer, Lars Ulrich, shared his excitement about the partnership, stating that “Music is for everyone, and we’re thrilled to be able to connect with our deaf and hard-of-hearing fans in this way.” The band has been vocal about their desire to make their music accessible to all, and this partnership is a step towards achieving that goal.

72 Seasons has previously worked with artists such as Billie Eilish and Post Malone to create ASL videos, but the partnership with Metallica marks the first time a metal band has participated in the project. Fans can expect more ASL videos from Metallica and 72 Seasons in the coming months.

Metallica’s partnership with 72 Seasons highlights the importance of accessibility in the music industry and serves as a positive step towards creating a more inclusive experience for all music fans.
