Tiger Woods’ Injuries are Catching Up to Him

In a recent interview, Australian professional golfer Jason Day revealed the true reason why Tiger Woods was forced to withdraw from the 2022 PGA Championship. According to Day, Woods pulled out of the event due to a screw that had gone through his skin, causing significant pain and discomfort. Day, who has been friends with Woods for years, recounted the conversation he had with Woods at the end of last year.

During the third round of the 2022 PGA Championship, Woods shot a 79 in cold and wet weather conditions, similar to those at Augusta National during the weekend when play was suspended due to inclement weather. Woods, who had undergone surgery to repair his right leg after a near-fatal car crash in February 2021, was already experiencing pain and discomfort before the screw went through his skin.

Woods was visibly struggling to walk before his withdrawal at the Masters on Sunday, which he attributed to re-aggravating his plantar fasciitis. On the previous day, Woods was seen limping and wincing in pain on the 17th hole. A Twitter user shared a video of the golfer limping on the green. Watch here. Day expressed his disappointment that Woods was not able to play, given the severity of his injuries.
