During the second quarter of the Super Bowl, Patrick Mahomes was barely able to get himself off the field. A reminder of his high ankle sprain on Sunday. After being tackled on a third down play, he stayed down for a while before limping off. Shortly after, the Eagles kicked a field goal, bringing the first half to an end.
The Eagles were leading 24-14 at halftime, and were outplaying the Chiefs. However, even behind an injured quarterback, the Kansas City Chiefs managed to come back, With Mahomes throwing for two more touchdowns and a 26 yard run setting up a 27 yard field goal by Harrison Butker with only eight seconds remaining in the game. Leaving the Chiefs with a 38-35 lead, the seconds ticked off as the Eagles desperately attempted one last play, but couldn’t even make a final connection. The Kansas City Chiefs have won the Super Bowl.
