Meek Mill recently revealed that he is planning on releasing a new movie in 2023. He went on Instagram in order to reveal on Sunday, January first, through clips of various unreleased music videos and a caption that he has plans for a film.
Meek shared several posts that highlighted how hard he was planning to start the new year, and is determined to accomplish a lot after a quiet 2022. The caption reads, “’Dream catching’ the movie date soon come#2023 first quarter leave a comment! I been loading up for a reason let’s ball.”
Some fans are wondering if the announcement has anything to do with Meek Mill’s promise to release 10 albums independently. Since his announcement, he has only released one project, Flamerz 5, that was released in November via YouTube and mixtape websites such as AudioMack and DatPiff.
In a series of tweets from before Meek released the tape, he explained his reasoning for keeping F5 off of streaming services. He stated, “When a label gave me a plaque I thought they was tryna trick me lol … show me the financials that my art made … that other shit a mental trick, Give me a plaque with how much my song made and how much I got paid … I’m shying away from that whole system it’s not for us! I don’t want FLAMERZ 5 on no streaming service …. This strictly underground music … billboard can’t rate it, Just rate the music ….I’d bet you a million I can make the UnitedStates/world play it with one upload button .. been doing it since MySpace lol.”
