Jeremiah Green, Drummer of Modest Mouse, Has Passed Away at 45 Years Old

Jeremiah Green a co-founding member and drummer for Modest Mouse, has passed away at the age of 45 after a short battle with cancer. Modest Mouse frontman, Isaac brock announced Green’s death in a Facebook post shortly after midnight on New Year’s Eve. He stated, “I don’t know a way to ease into this: Today we lost our dear friend Jeremiah. He laid down to rest and simply faded out. I’d like to say a bunch of pretty words right now, but it just isn’t the time. These will come later, and from many people. Please appreciate all the love you give, get, have given, and will get. Above all, Jeremiah was about love.”

Roughly a week ago, Green’s mother, Carol Namatame, posted that, Green was “diagnosed with cancer a short while ago, and he’s currently in treatment. It seems to be going smoothly and making a positive difference.”

Green was touring with Modest Mouse just last month as a part of the band’s celebration of their 25th anniversary of their album, The Lonesome Crowded West.
