Metallica Shared A Performance Of an Acoustic Cover Of Thin Lizzy’s Track ‘Borderline’

Metallica recently put out an acoustic live performance of the 1976 Thin Lizzy classic track, “Borderline.” They covered the track at the Helping Hands Concert & Auction in Los Angeles on December 16th. Borderline had appeared on the Irish band’s seventh studio album, Johnny The Fox, was one of a handful of songs played as a part of the acoustic set.

Overall, the show had Metallica playing two very unique sets, both a five song acoustic set in addition to “Blackened,” “The Unforgiven” and “Whiskey In A Jar,” it also included covers of “Borderline” and UFO’s “It’s Killing Me.”

The show was held at the Microsoft Theater and hosted by Jimmy Kimmel to raise funds for Metallica’s All Within My Hands Foundation that works with organizations around the world to battle food insecurity, provide funds in areas of natural disasters, and support education with Metallica Scholars program, currently in their fourth year.
