Modest Mouse Drummer Jeremiah Green is Battling Cancer

In a Christmas post that was posted on Facebook, Green’s mother, Carol Namatame, asked fans to send him, “healing vibes for [Green] who is battling stage 4 cancer. He’s is so strong and so brave and hanging in there!” In yet another separate Facebook post, DJ Marco Collins said that Green is undergoing chemotherapy treatments and that, “Despite having a stage 4 diagnosis, his prognosis is good! Also his oncologist is a big MM fan (so he’s got that in his corner!)”

Green has been absent from the Modest Mouse tour dates that were celebrating the 25th anniversary of their landmark album, The Lonesome Crowded West. Green had co-founded Modest Mouse along with frontman Isaac brock and Bassist Eric Judy in 1993. Green has remained, despite a brief 2003-2004 period, to be on the group’s lineup and is its longest tenure member aside from Brock. He has also been on every Modest Mouse album.
