Christina Aguilera Has Announced A New Music Video, ‘Beautiful’

According to billboard.com, Christina Aguilera is celebrating her 20 year anniversary of her studio album Stripped and in order to honor one of her career’s biggest singles she revealed on October 11th that she will be releasing a brand new music video for “Beautiful.”

Aguilera tweeted, “In celebration of the 20 year anniversary of Stripped and World Mental Health Day, I’m honored to share a new music video for Beautiful, Tune out and turn in. Take your space, log off, put your mind, body, and soul first.” Adding that the clip would be arriving on October 19th.

In the teaser clip, a group of young girls can be seen at desks and applying heavy makeup in front of a phone that is attached to a ring light. “Beautiful,” originally released back in 2002 and peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 dated for February 1, 2003 and ended up spending 27 weeks on the chart. Stripped also includes other songs such as “Fighter,” “Dirrty” and “Can’t Hold Us Down” that also peaked at number two on the all genre Billboard 200 albums chart, ultimately spending 79 weeks on the chart.

Aguilera received backlash for introducing fans to “Xtina” for Stripped, dying her hair black and posing nude on magazine covers and flaunting a more sexually explicit persona for her 2002 album. At the time she told Cosmopolitan in 2018 that, “I hope I paved the way and helped set the ground rules that women can be any version of themselves they wanna be…and proud of it.”
