According to ultimateclassicrock.com, Brian Johnson, singer of AC/DC, will detail his life in an upcoming memoir titled, The Lives of Brian, which is set to hit shelves on October 25th. The book is currently available for preorder. Johnson found modest success on U.K. charts but never had any major success. After the death of AC/DC singer Bon Scott, Johnson was invited to audition and landed the gig. AC/DC then continued to make their debut with Johnson for Back in Black, which ultimately became one of the best selling albums ever and brought rock back to life. With Johnson, AC/DC was able to experience more then four decades of success. In 2016, Johnson was forced to resign due to hearing loss, and AC/DC completed their ongoing Rock or Bust tour with help from Axl Rose. However, by 2018 Johnson was back and AC/DC released the chart topping Power Up in 2020.
In order to get his hearing back Johnson made us of a medical specialist who came to his home for three years trying to solve the problem. In 2020 the singer told Rolling Stone, “The first time he came down he brought this thing that looked like a car battery, I went, ‘What in the hell is that?’ He said, ‘We’re going to miniaturize it.’ It took two and a half years. He came down once a month. We’d sit there and it was boring as sh-t with all these wires and computer screens and noises. But it was well worth it. The only thing I can tell you is that it uses the bone structure in the skull as a receiver. That’s as much as I can tell you.” The payoff has continued, with Johnson recently taking part in the Taylor Hawkins tribute Concert on Saturday, to perform AC/DC classics “Back in Black” and “Let There Be Rock.”
