Fetty Wap Faces a Minimum 5 Years in Prison After Pleading Guilty to a Conspiracy Drug Charge

According to billboard.com, rapper Fetty Wap plead guilty on Monday to a conspiracy drug charge that has a mandatory five-year prison sentencing. Fetty Wap admitted that he had taken par tin a massive drug trafficking racket that helped move drugs from the West Coast to Long Island. The plea happened in front of Judge Steven Locke, who had previously taken away Fetty Wap’s bond and sent him to jail two weeks prior. After his plea Fetty Wap went bak to jail to await his sentencing, however, a date has not yet been set. Locke took away Fetty Wap’s $500,000 bail after prosecutors said the rapper threatened to kill a man during a FaceTime call in 2021, which violated the terms of his pretrial release for his drug case.

Fetty Wap was originally arrested last October on charges that alleged that he took part in a conspiracy to smuggle large amounts of heroin, fentanyl and other drugs into the New York City area. Fetty Wap’s plea saved him from the possibility of life in prison. However, now he must serve at least five years with federal sentencing guidelines suggesting an additional two years in prison. Fetty Wap and his co-defendants were accused of conspiring to possess and distribute over 100 kilograms of heroin, fentanyl, and crack cocaine between the period of June 2019 and June 2020. The arrest is not his first, as he was arrested back in 2019 in Las Vegas for allegedly assaulting three employees at a hotel-casino. Fetty Wap was also previously arrested back in 2017 on a DUI charge.
