Drake OVO Fest Features Stars of Canadian Hip-Hop

According to variety.com, on Thursday night, a three and a half hour concert, that ended at 2 a.m., was the start to Drake’s annual OVO weekend, which he calls October World Weekend: Road To OVO Fest Tour. The artist plans to take his OVO Fest international next year for its tenth anniversary. Names involved in the fest include Grammy-winning pop star Nelly Furtado, Michie Mee, R&B singer Melanie Durrant , and rappers Solitair, Ro Dolla, Jelleestone, and Infinite. Many more artists such as Maestro Fresh Wes, and Vancouver rap group Rascals performed at the fest where tickets were just $20 ($15 US). In a quote from Drake himself he stated that, “This is bigger to me than any American act, any show, I could ever see, This is one of the best nights I’ve ever had in my life.” He went on to say that, “This is the reason the city is the way it is, all these individuals here tonight, For real. I’m very grateful and I’m very thankful because if I was somewhere else, I might’ve been doing something completely different, but because of each and every one of these individuals that performed tonight, I am where I am.”
