Billy Corgan Performs Smashing Pumpkins New Song “Photograph”

According to consequence.net, Billy Corgan and his partner Chloe Mendel held a benefit concert on July 27th to benefit the victims of the July 4th Highland Park mass shooting, and at the event Corgan performed a new Smashing Pumpkins song titled, “Photograph,” that was inspired by the tragic event. Corgan stated that the song is about finding a picture of himself “standing in the very spot where this horrible thing happened,” where according tot he artist, “Good things become bad, bad things become good, simple things become complicated,” He went on to explain that he is unsure if it is a good or bad song, and that the song simply expresses how he feels. The money from the event went to the Highland Park Community Foundation’s July 4th Fund that was created after  a gunman opened fire at an Independence Day parade, killing seven and injuring dozens more. They were able to raise over $250,000 through donations and merchandise sales.
