Taraji P Henson hosted the show from the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles. Sean “Diddy” Combs received the Lifetime Achievement Award, the highest honor at the ceremony. Diddy is the founder of Bad Boy Records, he has his own television network, fashion line, and won three Grammy awards. Performers at the event included Lil Wayne, Chance the Rapper, Ella Mai, Roddy Ricch, Lizzo, and Kirk Franklin.
